On Top of Old Meatball, All Covered With Cheese..

TOP: Fran's world famous boulders, er, meatballs. I ate 3 of them, and couldn't get up from the table for hours
2nd: The boys (lumpy and joel) FINALLY win a game, after 6 months of trying
3rd: But, in the end, it was futile, as the girls (Fran and Kathy) swept the series yet again.
BOTTOM: Alex is kept in a cage at night, so he doesn't eat the cat. Otherwise, he's a shy, quiet, reserved little boy....NOT!
x
After a long week at (egads!) work, we went over to our friends Joel and Fran's for a home cooked Italian meal. Fran can cook up a storm (as can her mom and grandma!), and the meatballs were especially incredible. Finishing off the meal with a Vanilla/banana/chocolate concoction that just put me over the top...it was all I could do to drive home.
x
Of course, the girls hammered us yet again in pinochle. I think that they must be cheating or something.

1 Down, 10 Million To Go

Former Stankee's fan JR made a conversion over the weekend...he's finally left the evil empire. Of course, not everything converted...for instance, he still has the nose picking in public problem...acceptable in NY, but not in "proper" Boston

Oh Yeah, and There Was Some Football Game On Too

TOP: Fran's mountainous eclairs
x
We went over to our friends Fran and Joel's house for the Super Bowl. Apparently there was a game on, but all that I did was eat the desserts that she's cooked...gotta keep up my Lumpy figure.
x
The eclairs were especially humongous, about the size of a loaf of bread. I'll bet that they were at least 50 calories each.

Shuffle off to Buffalo

TOP: Ski tracks in the deep snow
BOTTOM: Peter, surprisingly eating again
x
Peter, Koz, and I decided that we would try to ski to Buffalo this winter, using the Erie Canal trail. I've kayaked the length of the canal, and will be biking it this spring, so just one more mode of transportation. If we get through this leg intact, then we're going to try to make it the rest of the way eastbound, all the way to the Hudson River.
x
I don't know how many people have done it, but I suspect a pretty small crew that have kayaked, biked, and ski'd Lake Erie to the Hudson!

No Agony at Agatinos

TOP: Strangely enough, Jan talking
BOTTOM: Nancy showing off...able to read a menu without reading glasses even OVER 50!
x
The whole crew went to Agatinos for a big Italian dinner tonight. Good food, albeit the service is usually less than stellar. But, tonight they were spot on, and everything worked well.
x
I had a HUGE platter of seafood over pasta..shrimp, crab, fish, mussels, clams, I don't even know what the heck all was in it, but it was awesome.
x
We're making this into an annual event...start off the new year by stuffing yourself into submission.

P'd On Again in Pinochle

Different players...same result. Totally skunked by Fran and Kathy.

I gotta take up bridge...
